Today we are talking about a company that over the last twenty years has established itself as one of the testimonials of design in the bathroom furnishing world. Located in the Civita Castellana district, the kingdom of Italian ceramists (we recommend reading the “DISTRICT HISTORY” at the source of the company’s site) on their site GSICERAMICA.IT describe themselves as follows: “A constant evolution. GSI ceramica is one of the main leaders in the Italian and international ceramics sector, an innovative company and a point of reference for the bathroom furnishing sector. Its activity goes back to the origins of the production tradition of the ceramic district to which the company belongs, which has been able to meet the challenges of the market over time. In this context, the founders of GSI Ceramica have skilfully combined traditional craftsmanship with bursting technological innovation in a process of continuous research and renewal, based on a work ethic and value system that focuses on the human dimension and the know-how typical of Italian productivity. Thus the fruitful relationship between entrepreneur, designer, worker and management has triggered a virtuous circle that makes it possible to offer products with a high quality standard, according to what has become the credo of GSI ceramica, “Italian Made”. Especially since the nineties, the company has received the strongest push towards innovation, under the guidance of a renewed management team, young and well prepared, who strongly believe in the development plan launched, and who are pursuing a policy of growth that will see GSI Ceramica as a protagonist and interpreter of good Made in Italy in the near future“. But where did this company start from? Records tell us that it was first called FACIS and in the 1960s and 1970s it produced an incredible series of sanitary ware in strange and unusual shapes, all of which are now out of production, along with their toilet seats. We have already met some of them in previous posts.

We have seen PALACE and GINEVRA in the post: ”Odd and unusual sanitary shapes and their toilet covers (part 2)”, we have seen ADDA in the post: ”The CONCA toilet bowl and toilet seat and its ‘brothers’.” and in the post: ”Sanitaryware old models out of production with rectangular toilet seat. (part 2)”, we have seen CADORE in the post: ”Odd shaped toilet seats with special sizes. You’re in for a treat!” read more HERE, we have seen OMEGA in the post: ”BIG sanitaryware, WCs and bidets in large sizes, modern lines and their WC covers (part 2)”. When it became GSI, the search for special shapes did not stop, resulting in a truly unique sanitary product!

PANORAMA

PANORAMA series by GSI Ceramica

This is one of those ceramic series that we call primary and unique forms. A shape that no other ceramic company has come up with before. We have seen them in previous posts Unique (special) sanitary ware shapes and their toilet seats and are for example SA02 by Galassia, Muse by Catalano, Memory by Hidra and Fiorile by Ideal Standard. On all these sanitary ware it is necessary to fit an original toilet seat or, if no longer available, a dedicated custom-made one absolutely. The shape of Panorama is an oval which is interrupted by two protruding flaps at 45°. Even if the series has been discontinued, the original toilet seat is available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

TRACCIA

TRACCIA series by GSI Ceramica

This is the company’s interpretation of rectangular sanitary ware. It’s a series from the early 2000s. We have seen in some posts who its competitors are (Sanitaryware rectangular shapes. Why do all toilet seat covers for this toilet look the same?): TERRA by Flaminia, EGO by Kerasan, VERSO by Catalano, FROZEN by Simas, SPACE STONE by ceramica Globo and METRICA by Pozzi Ginori. The Traccia series is on a par with competing series in terms of style and design. Its original toilet seat is available in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ]

ANTEA

ANTEA series by GSI Ceramica

A successful antique/retro series, Antea is now out of the catalogue. In the ’90s it played for important market shares with the other English-style series of other ceramic manufacturers. We have seen them in the post: ”Classic retro English-style sanitaryware and their toilet seats (part 1)”. 8-form as ANTALIA by Dolomite, but with a stepped design in the foot of the sanitary ware that makes it recognisable. Its other competitors are RETRO’ by Kerasan, ELLADE by Hidra and ARCADE by Simas. We still have the dedicated toilet seat for this series available and you can find it at the following link [ clik HERE ]

We have started to see some of the GSI ceramics production and their toilet seats. If you are still in doubt about which toilet seat to look for in your bathroom we suggest you send us an email to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to 3341288978 with two pictures of your toilet seat and a few measurements and we will be able to help you choose.
